Q: How long have you been at J2?
A: It’s been a long time. 2012
Q: Tell us how you got started doing what you do! (A little about your work background)
A: I graduated with a degree in Journalism and Advertising. At the time, Graphic Design degrees didn’t really exist. Some of my classwork involved tracing letters on paper to design a flyer or advertisement. The MAC was just coming into the mainstream, and we were forced to produce the student paper using QuarkXpress. After graduating from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, I went to New Mexico and became an art director for a door manufacturing company and then for a local computer magazine. Two years later, one of the advertisers I worked with at the magazine, hired me to be their designer in Irvine, CA. My primary job was to help get businesses on the new ”Internet.” Various other jobs have brought me to working with Jane and Jason at J2.
Q: Where did you go to school?
A: Creighton University, Omaha, NE. Midwest. Very cold.
Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: The creativity and being able to take a client idea and turn it into reality for them. Whether is is a concept for their business look, or an idea for a promotion. I really enjoy turning some notes, or a Word document, into a brochure, logo or other brand identity piece.
Q: What are you doing when you’re not working?
A: My girlfriend and I have a Brady Bunch of sorts. We each have 2 girls and a boy, making us a large group to go anywhere. We call it Perfect Chaos, and most of my free time is spent with them at track meets, mountain biking races, volleyball games, or just camping and enjoying Arizona. My oldest daughter attends NAU and we love spending time up there when we have the chance.
Q: What’s your favorite film and why?
A: One of my favorites is Plane, Trains and Automobiles. There are so many funny lines and comments. I could watch it over and over. It is the movie to kind of kick off the holiday season and is a Thanksgiving favorite.
Q: What are three random facts we don’t know about you?
A: I attended one of the most beautiful high schools in the nation. Architectural Digest named it the most beautiful school in Wisconsin. My parents attended the same school.Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, WI
